Field Trips Summer 2004
Friday, June 18th, 2004--Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls Website: http://www.washingtonpavilion.org This is one of the coolest places to visit in Sioux Falls. Group rates are reasonable and the CineDome is awsome no matter what is showing. We saw Everest in the CineDome and the cinematography was dizzying to say the least--hold on to your seats, this is quite the ride. The art gallery had a great display of Indian art work from some local artists. The Kirby Science Center is always fun no matter what age you are--of course, everyone love that tornado. Thumbs up approval by teachers and students. Photos taken at the Pavilion and on the Sioux Falls Trolley
Friday, June 25th--EROS Data Center Website: http://edc.usgs.gov/ We learned that EROS is unique in the sense that I is mostly run by non-governmental agencies using the facilities for scientific data collection to help many countries with management of ecological and natural resources. We highly recommend a visit to anyone interested in photography, earth science and satellites .Thumbs up approval by teachers and students.
Wednesday, July 7th--Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha Website: http://www.henrydoorlyzoo.com |
